Beginning

Both a designer, artisan and editor of luminaires, Ozone was born in 2000 from the vision and imagination of Etienne Gounot and Eric Jähnke. When they met, sitting at adjacent desks in an office where they both worked as engineers, something clicked. They abandoned mapped-out careers to give free rein to their creativity. Deeply moved by nature and architecture, Eric and Etienne engaged light as the spark, the substance of their inspiration.

Major inspirations are the sun and the sky with their thousand shades, from cold to warm light, from sharp shadows to soft diffusions, from the uniformity of color to the subtlest gradations. They also are memories of particular moments; we are suddenly wrapped by a magical light, unified to the world and our soul.

Proposition

Born in the multicultural city of Paris, the company has since created its own particular path made of perseverance, encounters and boldness.

Products have sprouted and flourished to form a collection that today delights a circle of connoisseurs. They appreciate the elegance of the clear lines, the refinement of the finishes as well as the beauty and functionality of the light. A Bauhaus influence is enhanced by a French thoroughness. These luminaires, with an absent presence, are at the service of the most exquisite interior design projects. Enough to bring talents like Joseph Dirand, Glenn Sestig, Jean-Michel Wilmotte as well as Régis Botta to the realization of their inspirations with Ozone and to the expansion the series. Two emblematic designers of the 20th century, Pierre Paulin and Michel Boyer, have also joined the family and thus bring the collection across time.
