Beginning

Designer, craftsman and lighting editor, Ozone was born in 2000, in Paris, from the vision and imagination of Etienne Gounot and Eric Jähnke. When they met, sitting at neighboring desks in an office where they both worked as engineers, something clicked. They gave up their established careers to give free rein to their creativity. Deeply touched by nature and architecture, Eric and Etienne have made light the spark, the substance of their project.

Their major inspirations are the sun and the sky with their thousand nuances, from cold to warm light, from sharp shadows to soft diffusions, from the uniformity of color to the most subtle gradations. They are also recollections of moments when we are suddenly enveloped in a magical light, unified with the world and our soul.

Proposition

Born in the multicultural city of Paris, the company has since created its own path made of perseverance, encounters, and boldness.

Products have sprouted and flourished to form a collection that today delights a circle of connoisseurs. They appreciate the elegance of the clear lines, the refined finishes as well as the functionality and beauty of the light. The influence of Bauhaus is enhanced by a very French thoroughness. These luminaires, with their absent presence, are at the service of the most exquisite interior design projects.

This has led talents such as Joseph Dirand, Glenn Sestig, Jean-Michel Wilmotte and Régis Botta to carry out their inspirations with Ozone and to expand the series. Two iconic designers of the 20th century, Pierre Paulin and Michel Boyer, have also joined the family, taking the collection through time.
